The waterfall is a remarkable sight especially after the Indian monsoon season when the landscape is painted with a fresh coat of green and the thundering roar of the waterfalls makes conversation impossible.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary : Kumarakom is one of the prominent in India. The bird watcher's paradise is located about 16 km from Kottayam, on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Waterfowls and Siberian cranes make the most attracting factor of this sanctuary. The best time to visit this place is between June and August.
Kumily : A small town near to Kumarakom, Kumily has emerged as a major shopping destination and spice trade centre in recent times. Kumily is the best choice for shopping. The coffee plantation of Kumily adds to the beauty of its landscape.
